Want to use your bookkeeping skills to help address the affordable housing crisis?
We’re hiring an experienced bookkeeper to work specifically with our housing related clients: a worker owned property management/real estate firm, and the housing and real estate cooperatives within the PODER Emma cooperative ecosystem.
We invite you to apply if you’re excited about our values and you also:
Are profient/advanced in QuickBooks Online (eg, use classes and customers to categorize transactions and pull corresponding reports; create JEs; reconcile liability accounts)
Quickly identify and resolve errors
Compile accurate, customized financial statements (including cash flow projections)
Have excellent Excel/Google Sheets skills (eg, create formulas with functions; use data validation; create charts)
Are a systems thinker; if someone explains the information they need, you can create efficient processes in QBO or Google Sheets to track or produce the information
Are proficient and comfortable learning new software and systems
Preferred but not required:
QB Desktop familiarity
Real estate bookkeeping experience
Bilingual English/Spanish
This position can be part- or full-time (25–40 hours/week) at $20/hour, pay negotiable based on experience. Benefits include paid time off, vision and dental insurance and a health stipend after 90 days. Our office is located in the Emma community of west Asheville; this is not a remote position.
